What is Engineered Wood Siding?

Engineered wood siding is a siding made from wood fibers and exterior resins. Engineered wood sidings look like real wood and are installed like wood and cement board sidings.

It is tough, strong, and durable. It comes ready to paint or with factory applied finishes. It generally has agents such as Borate to make it insect resistant. 

It is made with wood strands that are coated with zinc borate and heavy-duty exterior glues and then pressed under intense heat and pressured into thin wafers. The wafers are then put together and formed into 16' panels that are nailed onto the house.

It is less expensive than real wood siding, and a cheaper alternative to fiber cement sidings.
